Press release One page could change the war: Glenn Dyer's The Torch Betrayal kicks off a bold new series August 8, 2025
One missing page. One desperate mission. One chance to change the course of history.
London, August 2025 - dp books is proud to welcome Glenn Dyer to our list and announce the upcoming release of The Torch Betrayal, the gripping first novel in the Conor Thorn espionage thriller series – now available on Kindle Unlimited and Amazon.
Set in 1942 as World War II rages across Europe and North Africa, The Torch Betrayal begins with a dangerous mistake: a page has gone missing from General Eisenhower’s war diary containing key details about the top-secret Allied invasion, Operation Torch.
OSS agent Conor Thorn, desperate to redeem himself after a failed mission in Tangier, is given one shot at redemption. Teamed with MI6 operative Emily Bright, he must race to recover the missing intelligence before it falls into enemy hands and endangers thousands of Allied lives. But as the search leads them from London to Rome, the pair uncover a tangled web of traitors, Nazi collaborators, and Soviet spies – with time rapidly running out.
Explaining the inspiration behind his work, Dyer shares “A few years ago I read about a fascinating historical event in Capt. Harry C. Butcher's book My Three Years with Eisenhower (1946). Somehow, in 1942, a page went missing from Eisenhower's personal war-time diary. That page contained vital details about the impending Allied invasion of North Africa. Butcher never mentioned that the page was recovered.”
With decades of research into World War II, Dyer brings meticulous detail to a fictional world filled with real historical tension. “We still live with the geopolitical impacts that existed at the end of the war,” he says. “It seems that we are currently seeing history repeat itself too often.”
The Torch Betrayal is now available for purchase on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. Prepare to meet Conor Thorn and step into a world where every move could alter the fate of a continent.
