Stephen Kepher was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in International Relations and served for five years as an officer in the US Marine Corps. He left active duty as a captain. He worked for six years in account management in various Los Angeles advertising agencies, before coming to his senses and moving north to California’s wine country.
In 2006, he and his wife spent a year in Glasgow, Scotland where he studied at the University of Glasgow, earning a Master’s (MLitt) with honours in War Studies.
In 2018, they moved to western France.
Hunting Shadows is his first novel.
When not researching, writing, or revising, he often can be found in the kitchen, experimenting with a new recipe, or at his friend’s wine store, having a profound philosophical discussion.
