Elisabeth Storrs portrait

Elisabeth Storrs

Elisabeth Storrs has long had a passion for the history, myths and legends of the ancient world. Her curiosity piqued by an Etruscan sarcophagus depicting a couple embracing for eternity, she discovered the war between Etruria and Rome and the inspiration to write the ‘A Tale of Ancient Rome’ series including The Wedding Shroud, The Golden Dice and Call to Juno

The Wedding Shroud was endorsed by Ursula Le Guin, and named by Ben Kane as one of the top three books set in the classical world. Call to Juno was endorsed by Kate Quinn and was an Editor’s Choice in the Historical Novels Review. An archaeologist loved the saga so much she created an audio-visual exhibition featuring Elisabeth’s characters voicing votive statuary at the Museo dell’Agro Veientano near Rome. Altre Voci Edizione has translated the trilogy into Italian with Il Velo Nuziale and I Dadi D'oro now on sale. Il Patto di Giunone will be published in 2026.

Now Elisabeth is hurtling centuries forward with Fables & Lies, a novel set in WW2 Germany about the Aryan myth, bizarre Nazi archaeology and a race to save the Trojan Gold during the fall of Berlin.

Elisabeth is also the founder of the Historical Novel Society Australasia and the $150,000 ARA Historical Novel Prize.
