Mike’s love of reading began early, diving into Agatha Christie aged ten, after cutting his teeth on children’s mystery stories. His fascination with the dark, the criminal and the undiscovered has led him to create stories that sometimes keep him up at night. The Folly is his debut novel, though it rattled around in his head for 20 years first, cluttering up the place. Mike enjoys writing what he likes to read – character-driven crime mysteries with a whiff of the otherworldly.
Mike earned a degree in international business and French, before moving to London in his twenties to start a career in the charity sector. He loves history, crime fiction and true crime (reading it not committing it), and comics, a habit he is determined never to grow out of. Mike is a director at an international health charity, and lives in Sussex with his partner, their two daughters and the world’s worst cat, though writing is rapidly taking over his every waking thought.
