Community & Brand Marketing – Reader Engagement, Social Media & Team Leadership  We're looking for you as our Marketing Manager!

Stories don't just happen. They're built — by people who care deeply about getting them to the right reader.

We're growing. In titles, in formats, in ambition. And we're looking for someone who wants to be part of what comes next.

A Marketing Manager who thinks, leads, and builds. Ready to own a function, grow a team, and leave a real mark.

If that sounds like you — keep reading.

About the Company

Our vision is to publish entertaining literary content across all languages and formats — as audiobooks, ebooks and print — for the commercial success of our authors, our partners and our company. We are a leading independent international publisher of commercial fiction, with a focus on Crime, Thriller and Romance.

We publish across three language markets — English, German and French — with a presence in Germany, the UK and France, and an ambition to grow further.

We are proud to work with bestselling authors including Rachel Reid (HBO’s Heated Rivalry / Game Changers series), Saskia Louis, Rina Kent, Rhys Bowen, Stacy Reid and Ella Quinn.

It takes a whole team of dedicated professionals with a passion for words, stories and design to bring our titles to readers around the world. We’d love to hear from you if you share these values and our vision.

About the Role

Do you love stories — and want to do more than just read them, but actively shape how they reach their audience?

As our new Marketing Manager, you will own our marketing function and drive it to the next level. You work at the intersection of community, content, and data: recognising the potential of our reader and reviewer audiences, translating that into measurable marketing value, and turning it into title-specific action plans for our catalogue in German, French and English across every format.

You collaborate closely with our Sales Managers (key account management, project coordination, monitoring and analysis across all formats and sales channels) and our Performance Marketing team (Meta, Amazon Ads, with a roadmap into Google, TikTok, and Pinterest). You understand the full marketing funnel — from awareness through community qualification — and use Social Media, our website, and newsletters as instruments to build and monetise audience relationships.

Your Team

You lead a small, international team and carry full personnel responsibility for it:

  • Marketing Executive
  • Working student
  • A trainee to be hired after your onboarding period

You grow the team strategically and take it to the next level as the business scales.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the marketing strategy for our catalogue in German, French and English across every format, in close collaboration with Performance Marketing and Sales
  • Identify and leverage the potential of our reader and reviewer communities as a strategic marketing asset; embed community insights into title action plans
  • Plan, produce, and publish content across Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), newsletters, and our website — hands-on, not just in oversight
  • Develop and optimise the full marketing funnel, using all channels as qualification and engagement tools
  • Lead, develop, and grow your team (Marketing Executive, working student; trainee to follow)
  • Proactively question, design, document, and monitor marketing processes — independently and with accountability
  • Maintain and evolve our corporate identity
  • Support event management at book fairs (e.g. Frankfurter Buchmesse, London Book Fair) in cooperation with Editorial and Rights teams
  • Report on marketing performance, derive actionable insights, and present them clearly

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience in digital marketing, ideally in media, publishing, or content-driven industries
  • Proven ability to independently question processes, design structured workflows, and drive them forward with ownership
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small team — you understand what people management means in practice
  • Strong understanding of the marketing funnel and community-driven marketing; you know how to turn an audience into a brand asset
  • Hands-on mentality: you are willing and able to create and publish content yourself, particularly on social media
  • Confident collaborating with Performance Marketing colleagues and interpreting data to guide strategic decisions
  • A genuine passion for books, stories, and digital media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both German and English (minimum C1 each); French is a plus
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously

What We Offer

  • A key role with genuine leadership responsibility in a growing, internationally connected media company
  • Close collaboration with the Managing Director and direct influence on the company’s marketing direction
  • A competitive salary with a performance-related variable component
  • A motivated, creative team with a shared passion for stories
  • Start-up mindset in a professionally structured publishing environment — flat hierarchies and open communication
  • Hybrid work model: modern office in central Stuttgart, flexible hours, and workation options
  • Modern equipment with Mac and iPhone

Let’s create stories together!
