We're Hiring!
Reporting to: Community Marketing Team (operational) · Managing Director (strategic oversight, interim)
Location: Europe-wide, remote-friendly
About us
Our vision is to publish entertaining literary content in all languages and across all formats for the commercial success of both dp, our authors and our partners. We’re Germany’s leading independent digital publisher with a focus on publishing commercial fiction predominantly in the Crime, Thriller and Romance genres. We are proud to work with bestselling authors including Rachel Reid (HBO Heated Rivalry/ Game Changers series), Saskia Louis, Rina Kent, Rhys Bowen, Stacy Reid and Ella Quinn. It takes a whole team of dedicated professionals with a passion for words, stories and design to create our ebooks and audiobooks. We’d love to hear from you if you can share these values and vision.
The Role
As Community Assistant, you’ll support our Community Marketing team in building and nurturing our reader communities around our genres — Crime, Thriller and Romance. Your main focus will be our German-speaking reader community, including the social media channels where it lives (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook groups, etc.), but you’ll work as part of an international team communicating primarily in English day-to-day.
This is a hands-on, task-focused role: you’ll grow into the topic area working closely with our existing team, rather than managing the area independently from day one. Your operational point of contact will be our Community Marketing team; strategic oversight during this transition period — until our Manager Growth & Community position is filled — sits with our Managing Director.
What You Will Do
- Day-to-day management, moderation and growth of our German-speaking reader community, across social media and community platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, book-club formats)
- Planning and executing community campaigns and activations for the German-speaking audience
- Content coordination for community channels (scheduling, copy support, asset coordination with design/editorial)
- Close collaboration with Marketing, Editorial and Performance Marketing — conducted in English, as our team works across German, English and French markets
- Basic reporting and tracking of community metrics
- General administrative and organisational support for the team
What We Are Looking For
- Some initial experience (0–2 years) in marketing, community management, social media or a related field — internships or working-student experience count
- Fluent German (native or near-native, required for community-facing work) and fluent English (required for daily internal team communication)
- Interest in digital media, books/entertainment and publishing is a plus
- Structured, reliable way of working; enjoys collaborating in a team
- No leadership experience required — this is designed as an entry-level position
What We Offer
- A key role in a growing media company with lots of room to shape things
- A fast-learning curve and genuine support for your personal development
- A start-up mindset in the publishing world — flat hierarchies and open communication
- A hybrid work model: modern office in central Stuttgart, flexible hours and workation possibilities
- Modern equipment with Mac and iPhone
- Company pension plan (for German employees) and access to Urban Sports Club
Let’s create stories together!
If this role is of interest, please send your CV, cover letter and salary expectations.
